It was big news Las Vegas restaurants could again do dine-in (as of May 9, 2020), but all eyes are on the reopening of casinos.

We’ve now heard from multiple sources Wynn Las Vegas is moving forward to reopen May 26, 2020.

That sound you hear is this blog dancing about in its underwear, whooping at the top of its lungs. Good luck trying to unsee that.

Employees of Lakeside at Wynn and Jardin restaurant at Encore have also been informed of the May 26 reopen date.

An internal communication to employees of Lakeside restaurant said: “Not set in stone and certainly subject to change, but we are pushing for and prepping for a reopening date of 5/26. Full property including all restaurants.”

We’ve been informed nightclubs, dayclubs, casino bars, the poker room and spa will not be operating upon reopening. The buffet could return, but that discussion is pending because it will require new protocols (such as cafeteria-style serving).

Wynn Resorts has been firing on all cylinders since the beginning of the Las Vegas shutdown. The company was the first to release a plan to reopen safely. (Not to be bested, Las Vegas Sands followed up with an 800-page plan.)

During a recent visit to the White House, Wynn Resorts CEO Matt Maddox said Las Vegas casinos may be open on May 25, or Memorial Day.

Wynn Las Vegas — This is the place that rolled back paid parking, a guaranteed way to hold a special place in our heart.

While various Las Vegas casinos have been using “working dates” for reopening, those target dates have come and gone as Nevada’s shelter-in-place directive has been extended.

The May 26 date seems to have legs, as employees are being mobilized and recalled to ramp up operations.

More to come, but we’ll be among the first at Wynn Las Vegas when it reopens. The company has done a stellar job in its handling of the crisis, and has emerged as the gold standard of how its employees are being treated (they’ve been paid throughout the shutdown) and a thought leader about how casinos can open safely and Vegas can start to get back to being Vegas again.

Update (5/18/20): Wynn has pushed back its working opening date to June 1.

All most all of these comments clearly indicate the stupidity and callous attitudes of persons who have no regard for anyone but themselves. If you continue to behave in such a way in order to pretend that truth, honesty and integrity doesn't matter in this life, your "brains" have been successfully washed by the current criminals and human excrement occupying the white house. Congrats on being so pathetically weak and filled with hatred & cowardice. I'd suggest you stay home, if you have one, and save your $60 to put toward your much needed clinical analysis. You have no idea what lessons in life are in store for you; and your inane comments hear have only made it much worse. Stop pretending you are someone you aren't ( we can all see it; it is ugly and morally bankrupt) and start preparing for being permanently forgotten by everyone you are nothing like...the compassionate, educated, mentally evolved people who matter because they don't live their lives in deluded fear. Thank goodness none of you will be anywhere near me in the private casinos. Respond however you like, I won't be reading it.

I can't wait. I last visited in early March, the last of the halcyon days, although you knew the S was about to HTF in a matter of days (which is exactly what happened). It looks as though I won't have to cancel anything though and in July get to go back after a swing through Tonopah and Amargosa Valley. I got Casino Royale for $55 and the big attraction for me will be to see the transitions and adjustments as they happen as the properties play the hand they're dealt and adjust accordingly to get the money rolling back in in as a big a way as possible. It'll be a live-action "Modern Marvels." I have to toss back the "suite" I booked at Golden Gate at their Black Friday sale though. I love those rooms, especially at that price, but I want to observe this from the middle (sort of) of the Strip, not Fremont Street . The return of such "first world" problems is a good sign though in and of itself. While I hope it's not required once I get off the plane, I'll keep a few masks with me to ensure I don't get denied anything that I want to see. My hope is that I am more surprised at what stays the same than I am what changes. Seven weeks and change. Tick tock...

Open to 10% occupancy??!! Sounds like they want to reopen so they can stop paying their employees to stay at home. I foresee massive layoffs without pay on May 26th.

The concern about low occupancy was I think a major factor in why they shut down prior to Sisolak's order. Low occupancy looks bad. . That was two months ago though, ancient history in this time line. We had no idea at the time what the back end of this would look like. Now we kind of know. They have to start somewhere. You will note that they simply announced tentative opening dates. There is no grand opening fanfare here. They don't want crowds yet. They have to test all kinds of new systems and processes that have no precedent. They cannot afford to mess up. A slower start is just another revenue hit in an ocean of such hits, but in this case is a smart investment.

We have to start thinking of this as a flu, and therefore treat the lives lost as simple casualties of commerce. There's a price to pay, and we don't shut down casinos for the flu, so therefore move ahead with precautions and don't sweat the loss of a few lives.

I'm all for it. I'm a local, who is an essential worker... believe me, people come out and shop all the time, don't wear masks, don't social distance & don't stay at home. My partner is in the medical field & has been face to face with this virus. I'm with the people above, if you don't think YOU are ready...then stay home! Personally, I believe the casinos will be the cleanest they ever have or ever will be upon re-open. If I have to drink my crappy iced down gun vodka through a mask with a straw hole, then I will! Haha! Maybe I'll see ya there, Scott!

Obamagate explained in 2 minutes: Obama's CIA, FBI, and NSA began spying and doing political espionage in 2015/16 before election. They were using a false narrative that Russia was involved, for the warrants. However, it was completely fake and they never expected this to get out to the public. Trump suddenly wins. They collectively crap their pants realizing that he was going to uncover the spying since becoming President. They have no choice but to double-down on the Russia hoax. All to cover up illegal spying and "preserve" Obama's legacy. There's both direct and indirect evidence he was involved and knew. Direct evidence is people like Sally Yates mentioning Obama having direct knowledge of what was happening. Everything ends up leading back to him. The FBI, Joe Biden, CIA, and all these other people didn't randomly do this. They were taking orders from him. Also, all Counter-Epsionage investigations (which is what they were claiming this was) are started by the president only. So he obviously had to know.

Reopening Las Vegas bit by bit will be the scariest movie I've ever sat down to watch. We should all be able to agree the outcome of this movie will shape THE future for decades to come. Dance in your underwear all you want, but the long and depressing acts leading up to the end--whether the end turns out a rainbow or the soup line--will not be fun times. My job, one thousand miles away, is also riding on Las Vegas and its cadence of daily business as it struggles to reopen. If aviation doesn't swiftly return, which I wouldn't bet a nickel on happening, I'm toast for the long haul. So, please, Las Vegas, don't screw this up! All eyes are on you! Now might be a good time to buy some new underwear!

What about the people who have lost their entire lively hood? I guess they don't matter. How about this, then stay HOME! Don't visit any old people and guess what old people won't die. You know if you just stay inside your nice little home for the rest of your life, guess what, you will eventually die... Well maybe not because the bank will eventually come and get you out of your hose when you can't afford to make the payments anymore. Old people won't get infected if they self-isolate. That is what should happen, not shut down the entire economy, wait till the foreclosures and rise in homelessness over the next year and the increase in suicides. Of course, all of you saying kill the economy, who cares if you have a job, are the same ones that went and visited you OLD parents on mother's day...

My real "daddy" is a lot less grumpy than you are, he is 88 years old, and still works full time as an Orthopedic Surgeon, he ended up getting COVID-19 and recovered after three weeks or so... This notion that you and some others have that only old people are at major risk of serious complications or death from the virus is not correct, do some homework in your spare time, this insidious disease kills people of all ages. CDC numbers would strongly disagree with you. The risks significantly rise as you get older. Just like the flu. The flu also kills people of all ages but it kills a lot more old peeps than young ones. While your at it, I would recommend never to drive again, cuz you never know when you will get in an accident. Nobody listens to their daddy, my kids think I am a kook, they call me Captain Safety, and I think my own daddy is way over cautious... Obviously this disease kills more old people than young ones, it preys on people with existing medical conditions, my point is that opening up before we have actually made enough progress is ignorant and dangerous... I had to cancel two trips to Las Vegas because of COVID-19, I would love to go, but I won't go until it is safe. These states like Georgia and Iowa with Trump loving Governors are going to pay a huge price for opening up too early, Nevada seems to have a rational Governor, thankfully... And I drive, I drive my family insane in close quarters...

If I had to choose one bright idea in which to dance in my underwear, it would be autonomous cars. Human drivers will soon be a thing of the past. You won't be able to afford the insurance, even if it were still legal. Why? Because too many people are indifferent to danger or the consequences. I dream of a time when robots also write people's comments for them on Vital Vegas. No more ignorant nonsense.

Bottom line is you are the only one responsible for your health anyway - if you do no feel safe about it that's fine but there are plenty of people that choose to open their doors and go out !! Worry about yourself and your bridge :) :) others can make their own choice .

May 26 ? Will Nevada governor permit that ? Want to kill more people ? Going to get all customers to wear masks ? How about when they want to smoke, drink a cocktail or just eat ? And if a patron takes off his/her mask and refuses to put it back on ? Closing every other machine doesn't keep social distancing to at least 6 feet. I do applaud Wynn for at least keeping a lot of their employees on payroll. However if you think their re-opening plan is for customers health and not their books, I've got a bridge to sell you !
