Six Temptations You’ll Love at Pizza Rock Las Vegas

Pizza Rock, a new restaurant in downtown Las Vegas, is absolutely crushing it. During our most recent visit, the place was packed, and we discovered even more dishes to love. We knew we were smitten on our very first visit to Pizza Rock Las Vegas, but it keeps getting better each time we stop by.

Pizza Rock has swooped in and snagged the title of “Best Pizza Downtown,” and is a contender for “Best Pizza in Las Vegas,” too. Here are six items we think you’ll love at Pizza Rock.

1. Italian Fries

This appetizer will satisfy cravings you didn’t even know you had! You get to choose between three kinds, Gorgonzola, Rosemary Garlic or Truffle.

The Italian Fries provide your first "Pace yourself" moment.

2. Classic Meatballs

If we ever elope with an appetizer, it may just be with the classic meatballs at Pizza Rock. Again, these meatballs are among the most delicious we’ve had in Las Vegas, downtown or on The Strip.

The classic meatballs are made with a blend of three kinds of meat. We would share what those three kinds are, but we prefer "feeding our face" to "taking notes."

3. New Yorker Pizza

One cannot live by Pizza Margherita alone (Pizza Rock only makes 73 of its Napoletana-style Margherita pizza a day, so get on that), therefore we had to try the restaurant’s award-winning New Yorker pizza and found ourselves falling in love all over again. This $23 pizza is touted as having been named “Best Traditional in the World,” and features sliced mozzarella, tomato sauce, house link sausage, garlic, pepperoni and adorable little kisses of ricotta.

Just plain awesome.
“Kisses of Ricotta” would make a pretty great band name.

4. Dessert Calzone

If we seem a little anxious to get to the dessert course, that’s because we were a little anxious to get to the dessert course! The Dessert Calzone has Fuji apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and a caramel drizzle, voted “One of Our Favorite Kinds of Drizzle.”

You get two of these flavorful dessert calzones, and a scoop of vanilla gelato, a taste of things to come.

5. Gelato

One scoop is never enough of anything, so make sure to order multiples of Pizza Rock’s gelato. The flavors change, but vanilla and chocolate are a fairly sure bet. The third scoop here is coconut.

The gelato tastes like it was hand-crafted by somebody's Italian grandmother.

6. Mud Pie

All we can say is you’ll love Pizza Rock’s Mud Pie dessert as much as its pizza pies. You ready? The Mud Pie has house-made Oreo cookie crust and chocolate ganache, coffee and vanilla bean-flavored ice cream, and is topped with hot fudge, caramel and house-made whipped cream.

The sacrifices we make for you!

There’s so much to love at Pizza Rock Las Vegas, we can’t wait to visit again.

We only have two gripes about the joint. The music’s a little too loud, and the bar doesn’t carry Captain Morgan spiced rum. Thankfully, those things seems to pale by comparison to the great service and unbelievable food. (Note: Mob Bar, next door, has Captain Morgan, and the folks at Pizza Rock didn’t tackle us when we brought in an outside cocktail. Just another reason to love Pizza Rock.)
