Pete Rose Bar & Grill Is Out, Heart Attack Grill Is In

Nobody saw this one coming, but the former Pete Rose Bar & Grill on the Las Vegas Strip will soon be replaced by Heart Attack Grill.

The Pete Rose Sports Bar & Grill opened in Oct. 2015, but struggled almost immediately. In Aug. 2016, Rose’s name was unceremoniously removed from the restaurant’s signage, and business ties with the slugger were severed.

The restaurant was stripped of its baseball theme and continued to flounder, until finally being euthanized this week.

Heart Attack Grill Strip

Easiest “Wheel of Fortune” puzzle, ever.

The new Heart Attack Grill, located in the Hawaiian Marketplace shopping complex, near the closed Harley-Davidson Cafe, will be the restaurant’s second location in Las Vegas.

The original Heart Attack Grill is a fixture at Neonopolis in downtown Las Vegas.

The new restaurant is festooned with a sign reading, “Now hiring hot nurses.”

Heart Attack Grill Strip

We honestly can’t decide which turns us on more, “hot nurses” or the word “festooned.”

Heart Attack Grill is one of the most WTF-infused restaurants in all of Las Vegas. Customers must wear hospital gowns, and waitresses dressed as nurses paddle guests if they’re unable to finish their burgers.

One of Heart Attack Grill’s signature offers is customers who weigh 350 pounds or more dine free. And, yes, people have died of “apparent heart attacks” at Heart Attack Grill.

No opening date for the new Heart Attack Grill has been announced, but a good deal of work has already been done to the restaurant’s interior.

This venue needs an infusion of profitability, stat. Or something.

While we’ve never eaten at Heart Attack Grill, we’ve always enjoyed the restaurant’s playful irreverence. We’ve just never been able to tell if the humor is tongue-in-cheek or not.

Heart Attack Grill

Sort of on board with this one.

Thanks to alert reader Jeremiah for sharing this scoop.

Las Vegas is full of surprises, and we’ll keep a close eye on the new Heart Attack Grill. Because you never know what might be festooned next.

Never ate at the downtown location but they must be doing something right. Like the anti PC theme of high calorie food. Always thought it’s just a gimmick but maybe the food is good too. Guess I’ll try that triple bypass burger next trip.

It’s all sizzle, no steak. When they first opened here in the Phoenix area about ten years ago, the burgers were stellar. Then as they added more shtick, they didn’t have to care as much about the burger. If you care at all about the quality of the burger, go… anywhere else.

            That is fun.

Another fun fact: vlogger Adam the Woo loves to use the word festooning. (Fact is not fun.)

They’ve closed a few restaurants in the south over the years, as I recall. Vegas seems like the perfect place for a gimmick like this. Perhaps the only place.

I have never eaten there, either, but I hear the same thing, the food is not good. You sacrifice quality and taste for the sake of senseless calories, by all indications. No thanks. I love a babe dressed as a sexy nurse as much as the next guy, but not enough to eat unhealthy food that doesn’t taste great.

I understand why people try it once, despite its lackluster reviews. Does anyone ever eat there twice, by desire?

    Talk about colon cleansing.

I ate there once, and liked the food. I haven’t been back, though, mainly out of self-respect. Plus, there’s lots of other options out there if you want to festoon yourself with calories.

I’ve been to the Heart Attack Grill twice to eat and once to stop in to say Hi. It’s a fun place to go. The food was okay. The chocolate shake is FANTASTIC! The staff is fun, as is the atmosphere. My favorite is Nurse Rikki, who is the sweetest lady I know in Vegas. Don’t let that fool you though. She also is the hardest paddler!!

If you’ve ever wondered if people over 350 really do eat free, the answer is “yes.” I’ve done I’ve a couple of times. They make you go through the minor humiliation of weighing you in front of everyone, but it’s quick and the good is really good. They do make you pay for drinks, though. So if you drink soda you can get a very hearty lunch for under $4.

Just was in vegas the other day. Heart Attack grill has moved out of the Hawaiian Marketplace. My friend told me who lives in las vegas, As soon as Heart Attack grill opened Tix4tonite moved out and Krispy Kreme replaced the space. The other day i was craving for a donut and i figure i would walk across the street from Planet Hollywood to get a dozen. Nope that wasn’t the case as Krispy Kreme moved out of the Hawaiian Marketplace
